Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of Senior Accounting Administrator, the Accounting Administrator I (Lead Specialist) performs the most complex professional accounting work related to Accounts Receivables, Office Revolving Fund/Travel, and General Ledger. The incumbent will use knowledge of governmental accounting, budgeting and reporting, laws, rules and regulations to record and analyze accounting transactions using the Financial Information System for California accounting system.

Working Conditions

Persons appointed to this position must be reasonably expected to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 10 lbs. with or without a reasonable accommodation. Involves sitting most of the time and may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. This position may be eligible to participate in LCI’s hybrid telework schedule. Participation in Telework is subject to LCI’s guidelines. Occasional/overnight travel up to 15% may be required.

STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS (SOQ)
ACCOUNTING ADMINISTRATOR I (SPECIALIST)

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required and must be submitted with your application. The SOQ is a narrative discussion of how the candidate’s education, training, experience, and skills meet the desirable qualifications and demonstrate the candidate’s ability to perform the job duties listed in this bulletin. The SOQ serves as a documentation of each candidate’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing.

Instructions: When completing the SOQ, you must title the page “Statement of Qualifications” and include your name and the Job Control number on the first page. You must list and provide your answer below each question. When completing the SOQ please include all relevant experience, education, and training for each question and explain your answers thoroughly. Responses should be no longer than two pages in total length, single-spaced, and 12-point Arial font. Your SOQ must address the following:

1. Describe your experience preparing and reconciling monthly and quarterly financial reports.

Address reconciliations such as: SCO to Agency, General Cash, Bank Statement, Office Revolving Fund and Labor Distribution. Explain how you identify variances, research root causes, and ensure internal control compliance

2. Explain your experience using Fi$Cal to research, analyze, and resolve accounting issues.

Discuss how you: Pull queries and reports, Identify and correct budget errors, Process labor distribution and Use incident tickets to resolve system issues

3. Describe your experience preparing governmental and non-governmental financial reports.

Include any work with: Year-end accruals, Reports such as Report 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 15, or 19; Governmental vs Non-Governmental and Applying SAM, DOF, or SCO requirements
