Job Description

This role offers an exciting opportunity for bioinformatics experts to engage in a high-priority benchmark evaluation project with a leading AI lab. You will independently tackle complex bioinformatics data-analysis challenges, analyzing large biological datasets and submitting your analytical workflows as Jupyter notebooks. Your contributions will play a crucial role in evaluating advanced AI models based on real scientific reasoning. Key Responsibilities:

• Independently solve challenging bioinformatics problems across various subdomains, including transcriptomics, genomics, and virology.

• PhD or Master''s degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience with at least two of the following: RNA-seq analysis, variant calling, metagenomic classification, epigenomic profiling (ChIP-seq/methylation), single-cell analysis, or population genetics.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R for bioinformatics pipelines.
• Experience producing well-documented, reproducible Jupyter notebooks.
• Familiarity with command-line tools (e.g., samtools).
• Strong independent problem-solving skills, capable of working without guidance on ambiguous analytical tasks.

• Engagement is hourly, with a compensation range of $60 - $85 per hour.
• 4-week engagement starting in March.
• Tasks are assigned on a rolling basis.

• Short screening questionnaire to assess expertise in relevant subdomains and tool familiarity.
