Internship Overview
We are looking for a motivated and driven college student to join our team for a paid summer sales internship experience that offers hands-on exposure to the inner workings of a successful insurance agency. As a sales intern at O’Neill Insurance, you will have the opportunity to learn directly from licensed insurance professionals in a dynamic and supportive environment and gain valuable insights into the insurance agency business.
Key Responsibilities
Assist agents in lead generation and prospecting activities
Participate in sales calls, appointments, and presentations
Learn how to quote personal and commercial insurance policies
Support marketing campaigns and community outreach efforts
Understand client needs and help identify appropriate insurance solutions
Assist with internal projects
Gain exposure to the daily operations that support client service in an insurance agency
Observe how service team members handle policy updates, renewals, and claims
Learn how the Agency Management System is used to manage client accounts, document interactions, and maintain policy accuracy
Explore how service teams contribute to long-term client retention and overall agency success
General Agency Exposure:
Attend team meetings and training sessions
Shadow team members in various roles
Learn the compliance, regulatory, and ethical standards of the insurance industry
Gain exposure to the digital tools and platforms that support agency operations beyond the agency management system (e.g., communication tools, quoting platforms, CRM systems, and marketing software)
Current college student entering their junior or senior year
Strong interest in sales
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, reliable, and eager to learn
Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
Hands-on experience in a professional, motivated, and growing insurance agency
Networking opportunities with licensed professionals and agency leadership
Real-world knowledge of the insurance industry
Consideration for full-time employment or licensing opportunities after graduation
