Location: Remote (Online - U.S. only)

About Us

ALIF is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) instruction to K–12 students through engaging, live online classes. Our program is aligned with ACTFL proficiency standards and focuses on building real-world communication skills in Arabic.

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Online Arabic Teacher to deliver live (synchronous) instruction to K–12 students. The ideal candidate is skilled in teaching Arabic as a second language, comfortable with virtual learning platforms, and committed to student-centered, proficiency-based instruction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach live, online Arabic classes to K–12 students (small groups)
  • Deliver instruction in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA)
  • Plan and implement engaging, interactive lessons aligned with ACTFL proficiency levels
  • Use online tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom) effectively
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured virtual classroom environment
  • Assess student progress and provide timely feedback
  • Communicate professionally with parents and program staff
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required

QualificationsRequired

  • Fluency in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA)
  • Experience teaching Arabic or world languages (K–12 preferred)
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Comfort with online teaching platforms and technology
  • Reliable internet connection and professional teaching setup

Preferred

  • Degree in Arabic, Education, Linguistics, or related field
  • Teaching certification
  • Familiarity with ACTFL proficiency guidelines
  • Experience teaching in virtual environments
  • Experience working with children or youth programs

Schedule

  • Classes held after school hours and/or weekends (U.S. time zones)
