Position Title: Registered Dietitian

Location: New York, NY

Employment Type: Contract (Local & Travel Opportunities)

Duration: 12 Weeks (Flexible)

Compensation:

• Local: $50.00 – $60.00 per hour
• Travel: $60.00 – $70.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 5 Days per Week
• 7 Hours per Day (Full-Time)

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a qualified and experienced Registered Dietitian to join a dynamic Food and Nutrition Services team in a long-term acute care setting. This role focuses on evaluating patients’ nutritional needs, delivering diet education, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes and dietary management.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and patient screenings
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized nutrition care plans
• Provide ongoing monitoring, follow-up, and dietary recommendations
• Educate patients on nutrition, including food and medication interactions
• Collect and evaluate dietary histories from patients and families
• Interpret clinical data (lab results, physical findings, social factors) to guide care
• Document nutrition plans, interventions, and patient understanding in medical records
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to adjust therapeutic diets

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Dietitian
• Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, assessment, and patient care practices

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field (required)

Licensure & Certifications

• Registered Dietitian (RD) Certification
• Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) (required for acute care)
• New York State Dietitian-Nutritionist Certification (as applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – preferred

Preferred Experience

• 1–2 years of clinical experience in healthcare settings
• Experience with patient screening, nutritional assessments, and diet education
