About the Role

The Staff Pad has partnered with a hospital in Russellville, Alabama to hire a Registered Nurse – Outpatient Surgery . This role provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced outpatient surgical setting. The RN will support patients through pre-operative, intra-procedural (as applicable), and post-operative phases while collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the care team to ensure safe and efficient patient flow.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for surgical procedures
  
• Provide post-operative care, including monitoring recovery and discharge readiness
  
• Administer medications and treatments per physician and anesthesia orders
  
• Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and post-discharge care
  
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition appropriately
  
• Assist with patient flow to ensure efficiency in the outpatient setting
  
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
  
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary team members
  
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
  
• Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies for procedures as needed
  

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Alabama
  
• Previous nursing experience required (outpatient surgery, PACU, or acute care preferred)
  
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
  
• Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills
  
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
  
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient environment
