The Vascular Access Team (VAT) is composed of experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) from various clinical backgrounds who work together to provide exceptional care to adult and pediatric patients. As a consulting service for The Johns Hopkins Hospital, we provide assessments, management and education of all things vascular access. Our four distinct services are: adult VAT, pediatric VAT, adult PICCs and pediatric PICCs. We train our nurses to place IVs, midlines, and PICC lines; manage routine and complex central line dressings; and provide emergent access as part of the code response team. We work closely together, relying on our unique skills to provide excellent service in a team-oriented environment. IV experience is required for permanent night shift positions.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree from Accredited Nursing Program required. BSN/MSN matriculation required within 1 year of hire and completion of degree within 4 years of hire.
• Applicants with an Associate’s degree JHH provides Tuition Assistance towards earning your BSN/MSN
• Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
• BLS CPR certification required
• Acute care RN work experience required
• Proficiency in IV Access strongly preferred

***Nurses hired with an Associate’s degree in nursing must enroll in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 4 years of your start date.

Salary Range: Minimum 39.64/hour - Maximum 61.45/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
