Description

The Sound and Light Technician is partnering with the onboard Entertainment and Enrichment team to deliver premium Sound and Light experiences to guests onboard the Yacht. This position is an essential part of achieving total guest satisfaction in the Entertainment and Enrichment Department. Following company's policies and procedures the Sound and Light Technician oversees all aspects of the technical and operational quality of all LES systems onboard the Yacht. Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the Lady or Gentleman for this job. Oversees the technical and operational quality of all of the Light and Sound needs of the Yacht contributing to create positive and memorable experiences for guests ; Ensures the appropriate setup of Sound and Light for all daily live entertainment, local entertainment events, lectures, meeting spaces, Ritz Kids activities and Background Music ; Participates in the purchasing request of material related to the Entertainment and Enrichment Department in specific Sound and Light OS&E and consumables replenishment ; Performs regular technical checks, preventative maintenance and ensures that dedicated spaces for Sound and Light equipment are clean and organized while maintaining a safe working environment ; Executes physical inventories and inventory spot checks as per inventory schedule. Strives to minimize inventory levels while ensuring sufficient stock levels to operate the department smoothly. Consistently works towards minimizing waste, breakage and wear and tear ; Creates and monitors maintenance requests for non-functional equipment and any other topics affecting the Entertainment operation and ensures problems are resolved in an acceptable timeframe and escalates delays to the supervisor. Acts as the guest liaison on all sound, light and AV technical requests and coordination; Qualifications

Valid Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) and flag certification for the duration of the contract and appropriate to position ; Specialized certification and/or post-secondary degree in Sound and Light or related field is preferred ; Ability to operate, program and maintain professional Sound and Light equipment for live entertainment venues including digital and analog audio consoles. The knowledge to identify the causes of technical problems and suggest effective and creative ways to solve them ; Ability to operate, program and maintain professional Sound and Light equipment for live entertainment venues including digital and analog audio consoles. The knowledge to identify the causes of technical problems and suggest effective and creative ways to solve them ; Proficient in lighting and audio techniques, ability to understand industry rules and regulations, terminology and best practices ; Advanced Networking and computer skills with strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and OSX operating systems as well as Sound and Light specific applications ; Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point), OSX (Keynote, Pages) and Adobe (Acrobat Reader, Photoshop);

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The Lady or Gentleman must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.; All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.; All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be able to communicate in the English language in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.;
