Job Summary
Fantini Bakery is seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Transportation Driver / Shipper to join our family-owned team. In this dual-role position, you will transport our fresh-baked bread and bakery products from the Haverhill bakery to our depots across New England. All routes are designed to stay comfortably within a 2-hour one-way radius from Haverhill, ensuring you're home daily with no long-haul commitments. You will also support shipping and warehouse operations on the production floor. This role is ideal for experienced CDL drivers who are bilingual, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering high-quality, fresh products safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company trucks to transport fresh bread and bakery products from the bakery to designated depots, ensuring timely and damage-free deliveries. All routes are within a 2-hour one-way drive from Haverhill—no exceptions—so you return home after each shift.
• Perform thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections per DOT regulations, documenting any issues.
• Complete and submit daily vehicle condition reports detailing the truck's status, maintenance needs, and any observations or incidents.
• Assist as a Shipper in the warehouse: load/unload trucks, move product around the production floor, organize inventory, and support shipping/receiving tasks as needed.
• Communicate clearly with dispatch, warehouse team members, depot staff, and others via email, phone, or in-person.
• Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation as required.
• Follow all safety protocols, food safety standards (including temperature and handling for fresh products), DOT regulations, and company policies.
• Help uphold Fantini Bakery's commitment to freshness and quality during transport and handling.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements and a clean driving record.
• Current DOT Medical Card (DOT physical certification).
• Proven experience driving commercial vehicles (CDL experience required).
• Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish preferred or required to support team and operations).
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (including writing daily reports and using email).
• Basic computer skills for email, digital logging, and communication.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, and focus on safety.
• Physical ability to lift, move bakery products, and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience transporting perishable goods, food products, or bread/bakery items.
• Familiarity with local New England routes and depots in the region.
• Prior warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience.
